Howard Stern talks about Transcendental Meditation on Letterman Show



David Letterman asks Howard Stern about his Transcendental Meditation practice. Howard replies by saying it is a very simple technique and that he has practiced it since he was 18 years old. He explains that his mother who suffered from depression was the one who got him interested in the technique because she was completely changed from her practice. He also mentions Maharishi Mahesh Yogi who is the founder of the TM technique. David Letterman says that he tried a meditation technique where you listen to some music. He said that they told him that if you sleep then you are doing something wrong. Stern says that Transcendental Meditation is not like that and sleeping is fine.
